Activist and social media figure, Martins Vincent Otse, better known as VeryDarkMan, explained why he won’t go to a meeting with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). This meeting is about a corruption claim against some of the EFCC’s officers.
To give you some background, VeryDarkMan shared a video where you could hear a recording. In this recording, social media personality Bobrisky said he was asked to pay N15 million to get rid of a money laundering charge.
The EFCC responded by inviting both VeryDarkMan and Bobrisky to their office in Lagos. They want help from both to find out more about this bribery claim.
On Wednesday, VeryDarkMan said he won’t go to Lagos because he doesn’t live there and isn’t sure what will happen if he goes. Instead, he asked the EFCC to invite them to their office in Abuja.
He also said the EFCC didn’t ensure Bobrisky was actually sent to prison.
“Before you (EFCC) ask me to come, investigate your officers first. When you find out what your officers did with Bobrisky’s case, then you can invite me.
“You want me to come to Lagos, but EFCC’s main office is in Abuja; that doesn’t make sense. Invite Bobrisky to Abuja instead and investigate there.
“Finally, I can’t go to Lagos because I don’t have N15 million to pay for anything. I have no powerful friends and don’t want to be set up. I don’t trust you, so I won’t come (to Lagos),” he finished.
Bobrisky has denied paying N15 million to drop the money laundering charge and said the audio recording is fake.
