Adams Oshiomhole, who used to be the Governor and Senator for Edo North, said that the current Governor, Godwin Obaseki, is no longer politically important.
He said this on a TV show called Politics Today on Channels TV. They were talking about the recent governor’s election in Edo State.
Remember, the Independent National Electoral Commission, or INEC, announced on Sunday that Monday Okpebholo from the APC party won the election.
During the interview, Oshiomhole said that the result shows what the people of Edo want.
When people talked about the APC candidate winning, Oshiomhole said that the people of Edo wouldn’t risk their lives for anyone.
“We agree with President Jonathan’s idea that even the election for president is not worth the life of any Nigerian. But the national chairman of the PDP talked about bloodshed for the election, even with all the problems he is dealing with.
“I saw Obaseki on Channels TV saying the election was a matter of life and death. He said it would be a fight to the end. But the people have made their choice, and now I guess he is out of the political game.
“The people have chosen Monday Okpebholo, who was elected a senator last year, and now he has been named the new governor,” he said.
