The Rivers State Police Command has saved a young girl who was kidnapped from Enugu and taken to Port Harcourt in a big bag called a ‘Ghana-Must-Go’ bag.
The Police Commissioner, Mr. Olatunji Disu, shared this news during a meeting with reporters in Port Harcourt on Wednesday.
Mr. Disu explained that the kidnappers hurt the girl many times after bringing her to Port Harcourt. The police found out about this when officers at Abuloma Police Station got good information about one of the suspicious men.
“When we got the tip-off, our officers quickly went to the place and arrested a man.
The officers rescued the young girl (we will not share her name) who was being held by the kidnapper.
Initial checks showed that the man tricked the girl to leave her home in Garki, Enugu, put her in a big bag, and took her all the way to Port Harcourt,” said Mr. Disu.
Mr. Disu further explained that once in Port Harcourt, the girl was taken to a home belonging to a person who is believed to be involved in online fraud. This person, along with another man, continually hurt the girl.
“The girl has received medical care and treatment, while we have the suspects in our custody,” Mr. Disu said.
