The Lagos State Government has decided to reopen Donald’s Fast Food. This place is on Adebayo Doherty Street in Lekki Phase 1. Just two days ago, they had closed it because it was too noisy and wasn’t following environmental rules.
Before, Newslodge said the government shut it down after many people living nearby complained about loud music at night. It was operating as a nightclub called De Angels Night Club, even though it’s in a place where people live.
Lagos State’s Commissioner for Environment, Mr. Tokunbo Wahab, shared this news on Tuesday on his official X account (formerly known as Twitter).
He explained that they decided to reopen the place after the owner promised to follow the state’s environmental laws. The owner agreed to run it only as a fast food business and not as a club or party place.
“After sealing up Donald’s Fast Food (De-Angels Night Club) under the Lagos State Environmental Management and Protection Law 2017, the business owner has signed a promise to follow the state’s environmental laws. The owner will keep it as a fast food place and not use it for any clubbing or partying since it’s in a residential area and the state laws don’t allow such activities.”
“As a result, the Fast Food place has been ordered to reopen,” the post said.

However, Donald’s Fast Food reopened today after the owner promised it won’t be a nightclub anymore.

According to the National Environmental Standards & Regulations Enforcement Agency (NESREA), which Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA) follows, noise should be no more than 55 decibels during the day and 45 decibels at night in residential areas. Industrial areas can go up to 90 decibels, and commercial areas can have up to 70 decibels. In places like churches, clubs, and entertainment spots, they must have soundproof settings and limit speaker use to avoid bothering nearby people.
The Lagos State Government also doesn’t allow dumping waste into public drains and roads. Following these rules is very important for businesses that want to reopen after being closed by authorities.
