Police Detain Five Alleged Kidnappers in Delta Community

Late at night on September 12, 2024, the Crack Squad in Ughelli, Delta State, caught five people they believe are kidnappers. This happened at about 1:30 in the morning in a place where bad guys hide in Ewu Community.

The police found some dangerous tools and money with these suspects. They took away one single barrel gun, three small homemade guns, N450,000 in cash, a Moniepoint POS machine, an OPAY POS machine, and some rolls of what might be Indian hemp.

The people caught by the police are Dominic Uweru (also known as Ovwolo), who is 48 years old; Isaac Oghenerukevwe (also known as Plug), who is 34 years old; Oviri Godstime, who is 25 years old; Junior Sunday; and Efedeki Adjovo.

The Delta State Police spokesman, SP Bright Edafe, shared this news in a message. He said that these five people admitted to many bad things like robbery and kidnapping around Ughelli. They even kidnapped a 70-year-old lady on September 8, 2024, and asked for a lot of money. They got N7,900,000 on September 10, 2024, before letting her go.

Right now, these people are in police custody, and the officers are still looking into the case.
