Frank Mba, who is a high-ranking police officer, made an important announcement. He said that the bodyguards and special police protection for important people will stop 48 hours before the election for the governor of Edo State.

He mentioned that only the current governor, Godwin Obaseki, and his deputy will keep their police protection during the election. Frank Mba shared this information during a meeting about security in Edo State on Sunday.

He also said that the police will focus more on the borders of Edo State before the election to keep everything safe and in order.

He explained, “We will stop the bodyguards and special police protection 48 hours before the election. The governor and his deputy can keep their security, but these guards cannot go with them to where people will vote.”

The election for the governor of Edo State will take place next Saturday. There are three main candidates: Asue Ighodalo from the Peoples Democratic Party, Monday Okpebholo from the All Progressives Congress, and Olumide Akpata from the Labour Party.

Last Saturday, Governor Obaseki stated that the election is very important and critical. He also did not sign a peace agreement related to the election.

Because of these changes, important people like Adams Oshiomhole and others will be in the state without special police protection during the election.
