The scholarship is managed by Taighde Éireann/Research Ireland and funded by the Department of Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation, and Science.

The goal is to attract top researchers and encourage cutting-edge research in Ireland.

This scholarship helps students doing research in many areas like arts, science, engineering, business, law, and technology.

What does the scholarship give you?

The Government of Ireland Postgraduate Scholarship offers up to €31,000 a year. This includes:

A living expense of €22,000 per year

Help with tuition fees, up to €5,750 per year

€3,250 per year for travel, equipment, and materials for research

Who can apply?

To apply, you need to have or expect to get a first-class or upper-second-class honors degree or its equivalent. If you are waiting for your final results, you may still receive a provisional offer.

You must also submit a research proposal that shows original and promising ideas.

The scholarship is open in many fields, including arts, humanities, science, engineering, business, law, and technology.

Applicants must be connected to a Higher Education Institution (HEI) or Research Performing Organization (RPO) in Ireland.
