Borno Flood: Police Retrieve Eleven Decomposed Bodies

The Borno State Police Command has found eleven dead bodies in different parts of Maiduguri, the main city of Borno State, while rescue teams keep working.

The DAILY POST says that big floods in Borno State have caused a lot of harm, making many places in the state suffer.

Many families stuck in the flooded areas of Maiduguri were moved to safer places by the army, volunteers, and other security teams.

The Northeast Spokesperson for the Police, SP Ahmed Wakil, told reporters in Bauchi on Friday that the police are doing their best to save lives and keep people in Maiduguri safe during this tough time.

His message said, “Police Chief Yusufu Mohammed Lawal and his team are working hard to handle the flood disaster in Maiduguri city (MMC).

“Sadly, we have found eleven dead bodies because of the recent flooding, and rescue work is still happening.

“Reports from places like Lamisula, Jere, GRA, Bulabulin, and Dandal Police Stations in Maiduguri show that we found these eleven bodies in different areas between 10 AM to 2 PM on September 11 and 12, 2024.

“We are very serious about this sad situation, and the police are putting every effort into making sure rescue and recovery work goes well in the affected places.”
