The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State wants everyone to know that the court’s decision in the case against Emeka Beke and his team has been changed by the same judge.
On April 12, 2023, Omiete Efrebo and nine others got a temporary court order stopping Beke and his team from being the chairman and legal advisor of APC. This case was taken to the Rivers State High Court in Port Harcourt.
Festus Fuanter, the Deputy National Secretary of APC, told the media in Abuja that they had made a new seven-member caretaker group led by Tony Okocha because of that court order against Beke’s team.
But Iheanyichukwu Dike, the Legal Adviser for APC in Rivers State, said that the temporary court order from April 12, 2023, was canceled on January 30, 2024, by Justice D.G. Kio. The court also made Efrebo and the others pay N200,000 to Beke and his team.
After the April 12 order, Beke and his team appealed to a higher court to change it. But they decided to drop their appeal when they found out that the order was already canceled in January 2024. They officially withdrew their appeal on August 26, 2024.
Dike made it clear that the case against Beke and his team is no longer ongoing in any court. He asked everyone to ignore any rumors or false claims from people he called “enemies of the APC in Rivers State.”
