Atiku Addresses Claims from Bode George, Says 2027 Presidency Not His Focus

Must Read

In 2023, Atiku Abubakar, who wanted to be President from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), said he is not thinking about the 2027 presidency right now.

Atiku said he is more focused on helping Nigerians who are suffering because of President Bola Tinubu’s decisions.

He was responding to Chief Bode George, a member of the PDP Board of Trustees (BoT), who told him not to plan on running for President in 2027.

George suggested that Atiku should follow the example of United States President Joe Biden and forget about the 2027 elections.

But Atiku said that instead of discussing his future plans, George should tell Tinubu to change his harmful policies.

In a statement by his spokesman Paul Ibe, it was said: “We shouldn’t be talking about 2027 now. Atiku is worried about what is happening now in 2023 and what will come in 2024, 2025, and 2026.

“He is worried about Nigerians who are struggling because of the bad decisions by the current government.

“People in Nigeria, everyone, are having a hard time because of President Bola Tinubu’s leadership.

“Talking about 2027 now is not right when the problems from 2023 haven’t been fixed. Nigerians are having a very tough time now.

“Bode George should talk to Tinubu about his bad policies that are making poverty and division worse in our country, instead of worrying about 2027 politics.”
