Delta at 33: Uduaghan and Okowa’s administrations marked by mismanagement and increasing debt, says APC

Must Read

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta State thinks the state has had many bad leaders who care more about themselves than making the state better.

Valentine Onojeghuo, who speaks for Delta’s APC, said this in a message for the state’s 33rd birthday.

APC says people like Uduaghan, Okowa, and Sheriff Oborevwori have done a bad job and left the state in debt and bad shape.

They said Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan’s time as leader left over 600 billion in debt. Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa borrowed a lot of money, taking more than 1.2 trillion but didn’t do much with it.

Now, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori did the same by taking a 40 billion loan. The only things his time in office has to show are the Effurun and Enerhen flyover projects, which is not a lot for how much the state has.

For more than 20 years, APC says Delta State has had leaders who are only interested in staying in power and have done a poor job. The state’s roads and buildings are falling apart, crime is going up, and many people are very poor. For example, the Ughelli-Asaba expressway started 16 years ago is still not finished.

The government offices are not working properly and are just being used to give money to politicians who help the party win.

As the APC and many people in Delta State celebrate its 33rd birthday, they also feel sad about the missed chances and poor use of money. They say this anniversary is a reminder to end bad leadership and make Delta State a place everyone can be proud of.
