Former senator for Kogi West, Dino Melaye, has accused three important leaders in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). Their names are Iliya Damagum, Samuel Anyanwu, and Umar Bature. Melaye says they have destroyed the PDP.
According to Melaye’s post online, he believes these leaders have ruined the party for good.
In his post on X (a social media platform), Melaye also hinted that the party is now about making money and serving personal interests.
Melaye wrote: “This is the end for PDP. Damagum, Bature, and Anyanwu have destroyed it. Soon, we will talk about how the PDP has been turned into a business. The PDP is now ‘once upon a time.’”
People say that the leaders of the PDP might punish Damagum and Samuel Anyanwu. This is because of a letter they allegedly sent to the Court of Appeal in Port Harcourt.
Some party members think this letter went against the party’s interests. They want action to be taken against Damagum and Anyanwu.
But on Thursday, Damagum said no one can make him quit his position. He said those who want him to resign are only making him more famous.
At the inauguration of the National Reconciliation and Disciplinary Committees, Damagum criticized those spreading false information about the party’s leadership.
He said, “To everyone talking about Damagum—let me be clear. I will not be scared away. The more you talk about me, the more famous I become.”
