Osun Amotekun Apprehends Trio for Alleged Vehicle Parts Theft

Must Read

Three men named Sodiq Oyedokun, Ojoko Ayomiposi, and Busari Ayomide have been caught by the Osun Amotekun Corps for allegedly stealing car parts.

The Osun Amotekun Corps Commander, CSP Isaac Omoyele (retired), shared this information with DAILY POST on Friday in Osogbo. He said that the three men, aged between 21 and 24 years old, were caught in Ode-Omu town, in the Ayedaade local government area.

According to the statement from the Corps’ spokesperson, the three men were arrested on Wednesday while they were trying to sell the stolen parts as scrap to a man named Mallam, who deals with scavenging business in Ode-Omu.

Mallam did not want to buy the stolen parts. Instead, he told the Amotekun Operatives about it, who quickly acted and caught the men right there.

The men admitted they took the car parts from a mechanic workshop owned by Mr. Victor in Akure, Ondo State. They traveled to Ode-Omu in Osun State to sell the stolen parts but were unlucky and got caught.

Omoyele also mentioned that the suspects have been moved to the Amotekun Ondo State Command for more investigation and possible punishment.

DAILY POST also recalled that on Tuesday, the Osun State Police Commissioner, Mohammed Umar Abba, warned members of the Scavengers Association in the state to stop buying stolen items.

CP Umar Abba said that having stolen items is even worse than stealing and warned that anyone found guilty would face punishment.

The police boss had this meeting with the association members after noticing an increase in the vandalizing of transformers, power cables, and lines.
