The Bauchi State Police, working with other security groups, have caught a 54-year-old man suspected of selling guns. His name is Jinta Sati Dan-Anacha.

Police spokesman, SP Ahmed Wakili, announced on Friday that Dan-Anacha, who lives in Anguwan Bauchi, Jos, Plateau State, was stopped and searched by another security team on the Jos-Bauchi road.

The police found a fake AK-47 rifle hidden in a bag he was carrying.

The police discovered that Dan-Anacha was planning to give the gun to someone in Gombe.

“Dan-Anacha said he worked for the Church of Christ in Nations (COCIN) Missionary in Jos for 32 years. But now, we are investigating to find out more about his plans and if he worked with others,” SP Wakili shared.

In another event, the police found dangerous weapons in a kidnappers’ hideout.

SP Wakili said that on August 19, 2024, security people went to a known kidnapper’s hideout on a hill in Kufan Ningi. They found many dangerous weapons there.

There was a fight with the kidnappers, and the police got an AK-49 rifle and fourteen bullets.

“Thanks to good information, the police and other security groups raided the area early in the morning.

“During the raid, they found a homemade revolver, a short Dane gun, and three cartridges under a tree. These were probably left by kidnappers who ran away,” SP Wakili explained.
