Sad News in Taraba State

A 50-year-old woman named Nemis Usman was sadly killed by a hit-and-run driver in Taraba State.

Nemis was helping to clean the streets as part of the ‘Operation Keep Taraba Clean’ campaign when a driver hit her and drove away. This happened in Jalingo City, early Thursday morning, near Mile Six at Nobis Junction.

People who saw what happened told the DAILY POST that an unknown driver hit Nemis while she was working on the road. The impact killed her instantly, and she died before reaching the hospital.

The hospital workers at the Federal Medical Centre in Jalingo said they tried their best to save her, but it was too late. Her body is now in the hospital morgue.

The Police are investigating to find out who the driver was. They are working hard to make sure the driver is caught and brought to justice.

Her colleagues, who were also cleaning the streets, are very sad and said she was busy doing her job when she was hit. The coordinator of Operation Keep Taraba Clean, Iliya Kefas, said they are doing everything they can to find the driver.

Gambo Kwache, the spokesperson for the Taraba State Police, also confirmed the accident and said that the police are working nonstop to find the driver and hold them accountable.

This tragic event happened just a few hours after another sad event where four women drowned in a boat accident in the Ardo-Kola area of Taraba State.
