Police Apprehend Gunrunners and Thwart Kidnapping in Kaduna

Two bad guys who sell guns and a helper for kidnappers were caught by the Kaduna State Police.

The police also stopped a kidnapping and saved two people in two different operations in the state.

On Monday, the police spokesperson, Mansir Hassan, said that on August 14, 2024, the police caught the gunrunners, Abulaziz Habibu and Nuhu Thomas, in Madaci village, Zaria, with a fake AK-47 gun.

He said, “The bad guys said they gave weapons to bandits in the Zaria area and gave the police important information for more investigation.”

In another operation, the spokesperson said the police caught Abubakar Yahuza, a helper for kidnappers, in Gidan Abeh village, Kagarko LGA.

On August 18, 2024, police went to Kuriga village after hearing gunshots and stopped a kidnapping, saving two farmers who were attacked by bandits.

The state police boss, Audu Dabigi, praised his officers for their bravery and asked people to keep helping the police by giving good information to fight crime.

The statement added that the bad guys admitted they were involved in selling weapons to bandits in the Zaria area.

During questioning, the statement said the helper admitted he ran errands and gave information to the kidnappers who hide in the Gidan Dogo Forest.
