FRSC Returns N1 Million Recovered from Deceased Accident Scene to Victim’s Family

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Abuja returned over N1 million and other items to the family of a man who died in a car accident.

At a news conference on Friday in Abuja, the Sector Commander, Mr. Muta’a Chorrie, praised the team for being honest and careful in returning the recovered items.

The accident happened on June 11 at the Ido junction, on the Airport-Giri road, Abuja, according to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).

During the rescue efforts, three people died. One of them, Najim Babalola, a student from the College of Education in Zuba, owned a bag that held the money and other things.

Chorrie said this event shows the FRSC’s promise to act with honesty and care for people.

He said they made sure the items truly belonged to Najim Babalola before giving them back to the family.

The items found were a bag, two POS machines, five ATM cards, a Techno phone, a power bank, a rechargeable lamp, and over N1 million cash.

“The young man who died had a bright future. I want to thank the team for being so honest,” Chorrie said.

“When they found the bag, they hid it to keep it safe. They told the command right away,” he added.

“We wanted to be very sure about who the items belonged to before handing them over to the family,” Chorrie explained.

He also said, “This is how the FRSC always works. We take our time to check everything when we find valuables. Our hearts go out to the family.”
