A 30-year-old woman named Hauwa Yusuf has been caught by the police. She was hiding an AK-47 gun and four magazines (where bullets are stored) inside a sack of garri (a type of food).
The police stopped her on the Abuja-Kaduna Expressway to check what she had.
Muyiwa Adejobi, a police spokesperson, told everyone about the arrest on Friday at the police headquarters in Abuja. He said, “Yusuf admitted that a bad man named Aminu Basullube, who scares people in Katsina State, asked her to bring the gun and magazines to the Danum Madam Camp in Katsina State.”
Adejobi said that on August 14, 2024, the police, acting on a tip, stopped Hauwa Yusuf, a woman from Dutsin-Ma in Katsina State. She was traveling from Lafia in Nasarawa State to Katsina State in a Sienna bus when they stopped her on the Abuja-Kaduna Expressway.
They searched her things and found an AK-47 gun with no serial number and four magazines hidden inside a white sack of garri.
During questioning, Yusuf said that a man named Aminu Basullube, who is known for causing trouble in Katsina State, told her to bring the gun and magazines to the Danum Madam Camp in Katsina State.
