Joshua Zirkzee came off the bench and scored the winning goal in his first game for Manchester United, helping them beat Fulham 1-0.
Erik ten Hag, the manager, tried a new strategy. He put Bruno Fernandes in a special position called a false nine, hoping to start their Premier League season strong.
But things didn’t go as planned at first. Fernandes had two great chances to score but missed both. The team was trying hard to show they were the better side.
In the second half, Ten Hag decided to bring in Zirkzee. This player used to play for Bologna and made a big impact.
Zirkzee sneaked into the box and finished a beautiful team play with a goal.
There was still a chance for another goal when Alejandro Garnacho had an open shot, but he missed it near the end of the game at Old Trafford.
