Blaze Destroys Four-Bedroom Bungalow in Ilorin

Must Read

Certainly! Here’s the simplified and unique version suitable for easy understanding:

A four-bedroom house in Ilorin, Kwara State, caught fire on Thursday.

The fire started because the maid accidentally caused a gas explosion.

Hassan Adekunle, the spokesperson for Kwara State Fire Service, said in a statement that the incident happened at around 10:42 am at No. 6, Phase 1, off Baba-Soja Street, Akerebiata, Ilorin East Local Government Area.

He said that the fire crew quickly rushed to the scene to stop the fire from spreading.

“When they got there, the whole house was on fire,” he said.

“But the brave firefighters worked hard and stopped the fire from moving to other buildings,” he added.

Hassan explained that because of the quick response, the firefighters managed to control the fire and put it out.

“The maid in the house was safe, but the house was badly damaged because help was called too late,” he said.

During an investigation, they found out that the fire started when the maid tried to light the gas stove. She had problems striking the matches, and by the time she finally lit it, gas had already filled the kitchen, causing the explosion.

Prince Falade John Olumuyiwa, the Director of the fire service, felt sad for the people affected and told everyone to follow safety rules.

He stressed that people should always strike matches before turning on the gas. This can help prevent such accidents in the future.
