28 -year -old electrician electrocuted in Oyo

A 28 -year -old electrician, whose name has not been revealed, has been electrocuted in the state of Oyo.

The man was electrocuted in a high voltage cable belonging to the Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC).

General Manager of the Fire Service of the State of Oyo, Mr. YEMI Akinyinka confirmed the development.

Akinyinka said the agency received a call from anguish on Wednesday afternoon.

He said: “The call in difficulties was reported at 3:29 p.m. on Wednesday, April 23, 2025.

“The fire personnel led by PFS1 Peluola Babatunde quickly followed the person he called and, upon reaching the place, we met the victim already electrocuted and all the necessary precautionary measures were observed to safeguard citizens within the neighborhood.

“The man was recovered and delivered to a police team of the Eruwa Police Station. The incident occurred when the victim (electrician) was trying to rectify the electrical failure in the active electricity lines without closing the feeder.”
