The Progressive Frontliners (TPF), a group within the OSUN state chapter of the All Progressive Congress (APC), on Friday tasked party leaders to give approval to the Osun West Senatorial District to produce the party's next candidate for the governorship of Osun 2026. election.
The Group Coordinator, Mr. Ajijola Ayodeji, who made the allegation at a press conference in Osogbo, said that splitting the party list in Osun West also aligns with the spirit of the founding vision of APC, emphasizing justice, unity and national integration.
He added that it would “resonate positively with the broader electorate, showing our commitment to balanced development and equal participation in all regions.”
“The move will further solidify APC’s victory in the 2026 elections and our call is to address the imbalance in the production of governors in the state and also gain more party members.”
“Assigning the party ticket to Osun West this time would address this imbalance and promote inclusivity.

“It will also enable Osun West to fully participate and lead the development of our state alongside other districts.
“Again, from an electoral strategy point of view, the Osun West zoning will revitalize our support base, motivating both the party faithful and the local communities.
“This action would demonstrate that APC equally values all areas within the state, thereby garnering widespread support and enthusiasm, which is crucial for a successful election outcome,” he said.
He said it is also notable that leaders emerging from Osun West always bring diverse perspectives and ideas, which enrich the policies and programs of the party, fostering innovation and growth.
