Nigeria's most prestigious music award organizers, The Headies announced the nominees for their 17th edition, with the American singer Chloe Bailey ensuring a nomination in the category of international artist of the year.
This year's event, which will take place in Lagos on April 5, 2025, marks the return of the Headies to Nigeria after the previous edition was held in the United States.
Bailey, whose relationship with the Nigerian music star Burna Boy was recently public, won a place in the list for his collaboration in Vision Remix with the growing singer of Afrobeats Qing Madi.
It faces a tough competition of an impressive line of global stars, including Wale for Blood on the Dance Floor with Odumodublvck, Skepta for Tony Montana with laptop, Chris Brown for HMMM with Davido and Travis Scott for Active With ASKE.

According to the Headies, the category is based on the vote and is designated to celebrate a non -African artist or group with the most prominent achievements and impact on Afrobeats.
The Headies, in a statement, declared that the musical materials published between April 1, 2023 and July 31, 2024 were considered for nominations.
“Only musical materials that include singles, videos, live video recordings, EPS and albums released on digital transmission platforms, and physical music media within the review year (April 1, 2023 and July 31, 201024) were considered for the nomination. “
